Ditching IE for Firefox

Wednesday, April 6th, 2005

SearhcEnterpriseLinux recently interviewed John Hedkte, author of Firefox and Thunderbird Garage. John recomends against dumping IE entirely because a few sites still do not properly support Firefox. Do we really have a choice? You can’t exactly uninstall IE from Windows can you? Anyways, theres only 2 sites I recomend using IE for. The first is , the second is TrendMicrosystems HouseCall ( a activex based antivirus tool for windows).

That being said, not a single person in my family is using IE anymore. I’ve moved them all to Firefox and hid IE as best as possible. I even changed their IE icons to point to Firefox instead. 2 months later not a single complaint and I seem to get less complaints about their computers crashing.
