My microcell has not solved our problem – though it seems to help a neighbor nearby. Although we are in a “dead zone” (1 mile from UC Berkeley, 20 min from SF), the microcell keeps handing off the calls to a mystery tower nearby, and cutting off calls.
here’s what ATT says:
In researching your issue we are not finding any network issues and see that the issue is with the micro cell handing off to towers in the area which will often cause the call to disconnect.
We are frustrated
@MS, Yes I’ve been experiencing the same thing. I’ve mostly given up on AT&T and will likely be looking elsewhere for service in the near future.
@MS – They must have had complaint because as I’m setting up mine, there’s an option to disable hand offs to other towers on their portal
@dm Interesting. I’ll have to plug mine in and check it out. I’ve since moved to a location where coverage isn’t as bad.
