OpenSSH had a funding crisis recently.\u00c2\u00a0 What other projects are in that boat?<\/p>\n<p>What other funding methods exist for OSS projects? \u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.linuxfund.org\">LinuxFund<\/a> tried to fund individual projects with microgrants, but determined it was too hard to find quality projects.\u00c2\u00a0 Now they\u00c2\u00a0 fund larger OSS supporting organizations.\u00c2\u00a0 Hundreds of OSS developers are employed each summer via Google&#8217;s summer of code. \n<\/p>\n<p>I wonder which of the methods is a &#8220;better&#8221; method to fund OSS.
