{"id":322,"date":"2006-06-29T02:47:42","date_gmt":"2006-06-29T05:47:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fonz.net\/blog\/archives\/2006\/06\/29\/this-episode-jaberation-or-xmpp-federation\/"},"modified":"2006-06-29T02:47:42","modified_gmt":"2006-06-29T05:47:42","slug":"this-episode-jaberation-or-xmpp-federation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fonz.net\/blog\/archives\/2006\/06\/29\/this-episode-jaberation-or-xmpp-federation\/","title":{"rendered":"This Episode: Jaberation! or XMPP Federation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve just enabled server to server communication for the jabber server at work.\u00c2\u00a0 As a result we are now federated with <a href=\"http:\/\/talk.google.com\">google talk<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jabber.org\">jabber.org<\/a> and any other XMPP based IM service.<\/p>\n<p>Setting it up basically entailed openning up the firewall port that was previously blocking it and updating\u00c2\u00a0 an SRV record.\u00c2\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Its kinda cool how XMPP &#8220;just works&#8221; that way.
