Prince of Persia – Rival Swords

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

I ended up with a couple of gift certifications and coupons at BestBuy, so I drove over a picked up Prince of Persia: Rival Swords. It seems ok, I haven’t been enthralled by like like I was with Zelda: Twiglight Princess and Paper Mario. Both of those had me up all night playing non-stop.

Maybe next week after the data center move at work completes and SCALE calms down a bit I’ll be get more into it.

What games are you enjoying on the Wii? A lot of people I speak with seem excited about Guitar Hero II. I’ll likely pick that up at some point soon.

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

Registration for SCALE 6X, the 2008 Southern California Linux Expo, opened on Monday night. The community run linux and open-source conference will hold its 6th annual event on Feb 8 – 10, 2008 in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to registration, the first set of speakers and exhibitors was announced. Exhibits will include demos from groups such as IBM, Novell, Plain Black, Debian, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and others. Those interested in speaking still have time to submit an abstract to the call for papers which will close on November 30th. With a strong speaker and exhibitor line up as well as an expanded selection of mini-conferences, SCALE 6X should be the best year yet!

move complete

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Our move is finally complete. We are now in West Los Angeles, just a few blocks from Edmunds.com.
I timed my compute this morning during rush hour at about 10 minutes by car. 5 of those are waiting for the elevator in the lobby.
I imagine I’ll start biking or walking to work next week.

The few remaining items to move are cat related and we’ll probably be heading to grab them all now.
