BBB of New Jersey

While many BBB offices now offer a complete complaint / resolution system online. Unfortunately the New Jersey office, where Vonage is a member, only communicates via postal mail 🙁

I’m trying to work with them to resolve some issues I’m experiencing with Vonage. The requirement that we work via USPS is making it take much longer than necessary.

  2. Doreen, I personally can’t help you and nothing stated bellow is legal advise. However a few suggestions:

    1) Have you tried calling the business / bank in question to determine if the bill is legitimate?

    2) Whether or not the collection is legitimate, from your description, it sounds like might be violating one of the sections of the “Fair Debt Collection Practices Act”. See thiis article in the Seattle PI: What to do if the debt collector calls

    3) Read consumerist.com

    4) You can file a complaint with the BBB and try to have them mediate between you and the business in question.
