ISPs Suck No Matter Where You Go

Monday, May 29th, 2006

Fibertel finally admitted to using a transparent proxy to cache content. Their support rep basically said “don’t expect this to change, if you’re unhappy with our caching policies you are welcome to go elsewhere” (but in spanish).

They also indicated they wanted me to wait until Wednesday / Thursday for a tech to come out and troubleshoot my 50% packet loss from over the weekend.

Insanity.

Anyways, I’m looking in to replacing this cable connection with DSL, but I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be here or if its worth the effort.
