Testing the enclosures
So I havent heard anything from Apple US, Apple Latin America, or MacSoul since monday.
I tried calling Wednesday but couldnt get ahold of anyone. I’ll give it a shot again tomorrow. I’m really hoping someone knows where my iBook logic board is.
So yesterday I posted about Marc Hamilton joining us at SCALE 3x (2005) Marc spoke on one of our pannels at SCALE 1x.
Here is a link to Marc’s bio. If you want to see his pannel discussion its available on the SCALE 1x site courtesy of LPBN
The SCALE speaker committee has been very busy this week. Heres yet another announcement for a SCALE speaker:
Tim Jones from TOLIS Group, Inc.
Tim and the Tolis Group joined us at SCALE 1x (2002)
His 2002 talk can be seen on the SCALE website courtesy of LPBN
Tim’s talk this year will be titled: 10 pounds of backup in a 5 pound window - Improving Backup Planning for
Growing Environments
We will discuss many old and new procedures that can be used in most
administration environments to alleviate or reduce the backup load.
The discussion will include:
Full vs. Incremental vs. Differential Backups
Using Multiple Servers/Tape drives
Using Libraries with Multiple Drives
Using Disk to Disk and Disk to Disk to Tape
Using new Virtual Tape Libraries
Remote Storage - Near Line or Off Line.
The presentation will be aimed at no specific backup technology
(software) and will enable attendees to take home some new ideas about
lessening their backup loads.
Tim Jones is president and CTO of TOLIS Group, Inc.
